Top 3 in Building Growth 2026 – a milestone in EWQ’s growth journey
EWQ’s journey in the Building Growth 2026 competition culminated at the Finnish PE-VC Summit, where we took our place among the three finalists in the VC/Growth category. While the win went to Takomo, reaching the final brought EWQ valuable visibility, new connections and recognition for the growth journey we have built together with our private equity investor, Evli Private Capital.
From around 600 companies to the Top 3
Being selected as one of the Top 3 companies in the VC/Growth category was already an achievement in itself. EWQ reached the final from a strong group of around 600 companies considered for the competition.
The final was held on 8 October at the Finnish PE-VC Summit, bringing together investors, business leaders and companies from across Finland. For EWQ, the event offered an opportunity not only to present our growth story, but also to meet new people and engage in valuable discussions.
The Building Growth competition, organised by the Finnish Venture Capital Association (FVCA) and PwC, has been running for more than ten years, with previous winners including success stories such as Framery, Cactos, ICEYE, Virta and Swappie.
Valuable visibility and new conversations
Sampo Brisk, CEO of EWQ, represented the company at the event and saw first-hand the interest surrounding EWQ’s story.

For EWQ, reaching the final was about more than the result of one competition. It offered a chance to look back at how the company has developed and how much has been achieved along the way.
Founded in 1996, EWQ has grown from a small Finnish company into a Nordic retail technology provider serving more than 3,400 customers in the Nordic countries. Today, our solutions help retailers develop their customer experience and daily operations through Price Communication, Queue Management and Retail Media.
A milestone that takes us forward
The Building Growth journey gave us an opportunity to bring our story to a wider audience and strengthen EWQ’s visibility within the Finnish business and investment community.
Although we did not take home the category win this time, reaching the Top 3 is a milestone we are proud of – and one that gives us even more motivation for the next stage of our growth journey.
